My 11yr old son and I started watching beach vollyball during the Olympics—I had personally never watched this sport before. He and I feel in love with the sport watching you and Kerri—you guys are fantastic! He is a special needs child and has never been able to participate in a many sports activities—but what he loved most about watching you both was the idea of being a “team”—when you talked about 2006-and having to “put the blinders on” about your relationship and team..etc…he heard that and immediately liked you both…he said “see mom—they didn’t give up on each other..and they didn’t let other people effect their faith in each other”—I hope you realize what a lesson in humanity that is for millions of people—-and not just to an 11yr old child. Congratulations! You guys are awesome!

Your playing throughtout the last 4yrs has been intense and full of hard work….you girls totlally deserve this victory and I had no doubt. Extremely glad you and Kerri did not decide to end the partnership and decided to ignore the outside voices and do your own this, Perfect example of never letting anyone tell you what to do. YOU GIRLS SHOWED THEM :) wooo hooooo.
Your little :tazmanian Devil run around in the 19th point of the second set was crazy. It looked SO easy for you. That team did not stand a chance Misty :)
Enjoy your win and I hope this is not the end for you two. make sure you come back after the “lil ones” are born. A team like yours should not end this soon. You both are truly the BEST at this sport and have set a level of play that will not be touched for yrs to come….Well perhaps the next generation of lil misty and lil kerri ;) ha haaa. Cheers girls….SUPER happy for ya and wish you both the very best. Hopefully one day I will have the opportunity to meet my other idol. hey…it only took me 13yrs to meet my idol in Downhill skiing who was the Gold medalist in ’94. Funny story how we met, but lets just say its something I will never forget…nor will she I am sure.
Last thing….are you and Kerri playing in the AVP tour come Sept? Would love to see another month of Volleyball at its best before you retire for a bit ;)!!!

The game last night was so intense I could hardley contain myself. This was my version of the superbowl and it was great. These women are the best of the best and an inpiration to young ladies everywhere. Misty and Kerri are great role models for the younger generation of girls and volleyball players everywhere.
