They were so excited about getting to watch you and Kerri play. And then, to meet you was the highlight of their day. What great memories they will have of this day – talking with you, getting their picture taken with you, getting their “turtle” shirt signed by you and holding your gold medal!
They are all excited about watching you and Max on Dancing with the Stars. Everyone from HCSO will be voting for you!

I was able to attend both the semi-final match against Brazil and your Gold Medal match against China in Beijing, and I was truly inspired watching you two play. And cheering you two on in the rain was well worth every minute!! Misty, I became a bigger fan of beach volleyball by watching you and your teammates effort in beijing. Your defense and athleticism are amazing. We live in a northeast beachtown, All summer, Great American Volleyball has had nets up on weekends.The Sat. after one of your prelim matches. The signups were mobbed. I walk the beach almost everyday and never saw the crowds at GAVB like i did that day and GAVB has been there every wknd since mem day. The sport already had popularity but you and Keri made it household. Start your family, enjoy yourself and see you in London 2012. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You were absolutely fantastic during the games and you deserve to have that gold medal around your necks. I am extremely proud of you both as if you were a part of my family. I am originally from Cuba but I came to the States when I was jut eleven years old. I lived in Miami, Florida since then until I moved to Maryland a year ago. I never liked baseball or watched an entire game until the Florida Marlins got to the World Series in 1997 and then they beat the all-mighty Yankees in 2003 and I was never interested in Beach Volleyball until the Athens Games when you guys rocked!! You cannot imagine how much I adore the United States of America that is why I feel so proud of you. Kerri, it took a lot of courage to thank the President so openly on live tv. A man who I feel has been overly critized. I thought it was a great gesture on his part to go and spend some time with the US athletes in Beijing yet the mainstream media likes to spin it another way. I am glad to see that you appreciated what he did because I believe that in the end history will judge him correctly. Well, you’ve got my e-mail. If you are ever in Maryland let me know. I would love to meet and congratulate you personally. Thank you for the opportunity of sending a note. I love you both and enjoy your new babies, whenever you have them. God Bless You Both!!!!!

I grew up playing volleyball and still love the sport to this day. My first memory of watching beach volleyball was during the Gabriele Reese days. I watch every AVP TV event that I can and your matches were the only constant thing I tuned in for at these Olympics. Congratulations! I just wanted to say that I am happy that my girls, who are 9 and 11, have such a great selection of women as role models. As a teenage girll and young adult, volleyball and softball were how I spent every spare minute, but I didn’t know the names of any women in the sports. I am going to make sure my kids do.
