Misty honored at Glamour Awards

Glamour Magazine on Monday announced its annual “Women of the Year” awards, naming Misty May as one of the ten extraordinary and inspirational women of the year. Others to be named to the prestigous honor include actress Nicole Kidman, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Misty’s volleyball partner Kerri Walsh.

The most famous women who have made unprecedented contributions to the worlds of entertainment, business, sports, fashion, science and politics were honored in the ceremony, which marked the 19th unveiling of the list last night by Glamour Magazine in New York.

Misty answers questions from fans

Q: Hey Misty, Do you do any charity things for schools or hospitals?

MM: I do attend charity events, and really enjoy doing so when time permits. I was recently at Children’s Hospital of Orange Country visiting patients, and I also do a lot of work with the Special Olympics and a few other causes. I am in the process of starting a foundation as well and will let you guys know more about it as we move forward with that.

Happy Halloween

Hi! Just wanted to wish everyone a belated happy Halloween and share this great picture. Evan and his friend Nathan dressed up as me and Kerri and won third place at the Today Show costume show in New York. I got a kick out of it. Thanks guys! How was Halloween for everyone? Misty sweeps AVP Awards

The AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour hosted its players banquet on Wednesday night, honoring the sport’s top athletes of the 2008 AVP Crocs Tour season. Once again, three-time AVP Crocs Cup Champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May swept the major honors at the tour’s postseason awards ceremony, winning the Best Offensive Player, Best Defensive Player, and Most Valuable Player honors while also earning the title of Team of the Year with partner Kerri Walsh.

The Team of the Year honor was the sixth straight for Misty and and Kerri. Misty was named the Best Offensive Player for the fifth straight year, earned her fourth consecutive MVP award and captured the Best Defensive Player title for the third time.
